What a perfect time to have a second New Year. Late August! This second New Year is practically in the middle of the year from our traditional New Years celebration.
Every time we come back from Burningman it's weird adjusting to traditional lifestyle everyone lives in Los Angeles. The transition can be jarring and mostly refreshing. We spend a week or so in the vast desert of Black Rock City where we participate with the best of the best in any field. I learn new crafts, I perform fire for my peers, I get to experience the most extraordinary art, have amazing connections with everyone I come in contact with, and meet new friends from across the globe. These are a couple highlights. In this city, I am refreshed and reminded by the "anything is possible" quality of life with the lack of judgement. I return to LA to look at my life as well as others' with a new mindset. I get a fresh start in doing something new. Reinvent myself. What is it this year?...Well, I have a few things up my sleeve, however it's mostly about reconnecting with people. I love what I do as a hairdresser. Throughout the year I encourage everyone to try something new with their hair. It grows back and we can always change the color. If it absolutely doesn't work. I keep you from doing it...unless you really want to try it, then it's good to get it out of your system. :) I'm inspired when people around me try something new. Not just with your hair, with any new hobby, food or trip, for example. Trying new things stimulates our creativity and the creativity of others around us. It's like smiling being contagious. What is it that you would like to create? I would love to here about it. I'll be sure to share my latest endeavor. There are plenty. Would you like to go for coffee or tea sometime? Just ask and we'll make it happen. Thank you for being alive and amazing !!
